This campaign has come to light after KZN has experienced an alarmingly high report of babies being left for dead. In a period of just 4 weeks we have had 7 babies that have3 been dumped. Of the seven only three babies survived. These are the stats from cases that were reported and gained media attention. It is heart-breaking to think of the many cases that never gets reported.
With the support of other organizations, Childline KZN had taken to the streets in large numbers. The aim was for the community member, stakeholder, NGO, corporate and the government sector to have a voice to speak out against dumping and the abuse of children. We urge people to make use of free contraceptives that is provided by DOH. Adoption is real and people should make use of the system. Don’t dump your baby, find out what options you have.
