Childline is widely recognized for its crisis line as well as for the assistance it renders to survivors of child abuse.
However, Childline offers many more services that work towards the prevention of child abuse.

All the services offered are:

• 24 hour crisis counselling and help line for children and adults with concerns about children and related issues.

  

   

• Training and consultation with lay trauma Counsellors in peri-urban and rural areas where children and families do not have direct access to Childline`s therapy services.
• Training of Volunteer Consellors to assist with the staffing of the 24- hour help line.
• Therapy services for abused children and their families and children presenting with inappropriate sexual behaviour.

• A court preparation and support programme for children who are complainants in cases of child abuse.

COURT SUPPORT BOOKLET

• Rehabilitative services for children who have committed offences against children.
• Rehabilitative services for adults who have committed offenses against children.
• Awareness and training programmes for professionals involved in the care and management of children.
• Preventative and educational programmes in order to sensatise children and adults to teach potential protective behaviours and life skills. These are offered to learners, educators, community groups, womens groups, tertiary Institutions, etc.

• Advocacy and Advisory services to national and local legislation and policy development to uphold the best interests and rights of children.
